Kitchen Assistant - Laramie Soup Kitchen

Expectations:
- You will assist in the execution of menus set forth by the Kitchen Manager & Deputy Director
- You exhibit initiative and strong communication skills with an ability to work cohesively with all levels of management
- You will get to build management skills by providing basic training and guidance to volunteers
- You will be ensuring a safe and sanitary environment in the kitchen and all other areas
- You will get to shine with abilities to be creative and work as a team
- You will be cross-trained in all areas of the kitchen; no two days will ever be quite the same
- You will be the first step in ensuring that high quality of food is provided for our guests
- You will have access to learning and growth opportunities (Kitchen Operations, Food Safety Training, First Aid, etc.)
- You will play a critical role in maintaining essential paperwork
- You will be held to the standards of the employee handbook, food safety protocol, COVID-19 precautions, and all Soup Kitchen policies and procedures

- You are able to lift 75 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- You are outgoing and highly energetic

- You have a passion and interest in food and cooking

Hours and Benefits:
- You recommend your own schedule, giving you time to attend classes, complete homework, and leave time for the things YOU want to do
- We are open Monday through Friday (which means weekends off!), 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., you can work between 10 – 18 hours a week and additional hours outside of this may occasionally be available
- Please note: The max amount of hours a shift will be per day is about 4 hours
- You will be compensated at $12.00 hourly, with opportunities for paid holidays and raises for performance

Notes: You must be available to work over UWYO Winter Break (Days off for the holidays are: Dec 25 & 26, and Jan 1). Biggest current hourly needs are afternoons (10:30 am and beyond).
