Responsibilities:
Assesses, designs, coordinates/conducts/facilitates and evaluates educational programs for staff based on regulatory/accreditation standards, PI reports, mission/values and learning needs
Supports the process of hiring, orienting, socializing, and integrating an employee to the organization with a focus on retention and growth
Facilitates orientation of licensed and unlicensed healthcare personnel during onboarding and when changes in roles, responsibilities, and practice settings occur
Develops, coordinates, manages, facilitates, conducts, and evaluates onboarding and orientation programs for licensed and unlicensed healthcare personnel
Designs education programming to address identified practice gaps, which may include licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel
Develops activities to achieve specific outcomes related to identified deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skills, or practice
Creates a learning environment by providing Educational programs include continuing nursing education, quality education, and inter-professional education
Supports ongoing assessment and evaluation of the skills, knowledge, abilities, and judgement of licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel
Measures, documents, and supports competency, and addresses competency deficits in staff members and teams
Identifies and develops strategies to facilitate a continuous process of maturation through lifelong learning
Coordinates programming to facilitate professional role development and practice role transitions
Partners with individuals, groups, and/or organizations to share expertise in planning and decision-making to achieve common goals
Collaborative partnerships may include inter-professional groups within the organization, academic/practice partnerships, and community partnerships
Within collaborative partnerships may teach, coordinate, serve as liaison, and advise others concerning education and learning
Promotes, encourages, facilitates, conducts and participates in research, evidence-based practice (EBP) and/or quality improvement (QI) activities
Promotes and integrates the science of the Nursing Professional Development specialty to continuously improve his/her practice
Utilizes evidence-based practice to facilitate and promote best practice
Designs education programs that align with the organization’s strategic goals
Supports a culture of innovation
Creates and promotes a just culture and healthy work environment
Demonstrates leadership by working as a role model and mentor
Assumes leadership roles representing nursing professional development as needed
Provides educational leadership to enhance patient care
Collaborates with medical providers, patient care staff, and unit management in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula
Assesses and develops clinical skills activities within established clinical and preceptorship models
Aggregates and analyzes data trends, to implement educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters
Creates and implements educational curricula designed to develop patient care plans and incorporate evidenced-based research and national standards
Consults with and serves as a clinical resource for unit management to ensure quality patient care
Coordinates education of patient care staff to ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
Maintains professional knowledge by affiliating with professional and technical organizations, and by participating in applicable continuing education programs, conferences, seminars, and workshops
Oversees and Promotes Culture Change
Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse License (FL or Multi-state)
BLS Certification
ACLS Certification
Bachelor Degree Preferred
Bilingual Preferred (English & Spanish)
Previous Experience in Clinical Educator/Hospital Education Setting Preferred
