Job Title: Forester
Larson & McGowin, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Forester to join our team. As a Forester, you will be responsible for assisting with the forest management of client properties located in south Alabama.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct timber inventory and timber marking
- Prepare and administer timber sales
- Develop stand-level silvicultural prescriptions
- Contract forestry-related services
- Participate in consulting and field projects across the U.S. Southeast
Qualifications and Abilities:
- Bachelor's Degree in Forestry or related field
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Time management skills
- Ability to work in remote outdoor locations in various weather and forest conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
- 0-5 years experience in forestry field work
- Field proficiency with various forest inventory/mensuration techniques and methodologies
- Knowledge and experience with GIS software (i.e., ArcGIS)
- Registered Forester or meet the necessary requirements to obtain this designation or equivalent within 2 years from date of hire
