Maintenance Technician

What you’ll do as a Maintenance Technician

• Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.
• Ensure proper operation of conveyor systems, and material handling equipment to keep our operations running smoothly, responding in a timely manner to all material handling systems breakdowns.
• Maintain and provide routine preventive maintenance to conveyor systems.
• Change and repair parts of conveyor systems, rebuild and align equipment, gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts
• Use illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment.
• Perform housekeeping duties, including work area clean-up, conveyor and equipment clean-up, and other general housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Daily Inspections of machinery for potential problems
• Most of the work is performed independently, but from time to time you will need to tap the shoulder of another maintenance member, we work as a team!

What you need to have to be a successful Maintenance Technician

Experience working on the following:

• Ability to learn and follow all safety regulations and job instructions to perform primary duties
• Knowledge of Material Handling Systems (MHS), industrial conveyor systems and controls, VFDs, Electronic motors (480V)
• Knowledge of LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), PM’s (Preventative Maintenance), and 3-Phase electrical work.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and electrical blueprints
• Mechanical and or electrical work experience
• Industrial electrical knowledge a PLUS
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate 24hr. operations; occasionally work extended hours, weekends and holidays as needed
• Ability to lift 60 pounds on a routine basis
• Good time management skills and ability to work independently and as a team member

Minimum Requirements for this position

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• 1 yr. or greater, related experience and/or training in mechanical and electrical equipment; or equivalent combination of both education and specific work experience.
