What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Manager position at Latin American Community Center?
Overview: The Facilities Manager maintains and oversees the LACC’s grounds, buildings and equipment, ensuring that workspaces are safe and functional. Duties include negotiating contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations, supervising other facilities staff, completing minor building repairs, ensuring sufficient custodial supplies, and coordinating renovations and updates.
Essential Functions
- Monitor the safety, cleanliness, and visual appeal of interior and exterior areas and take steps to carry out needed improvements.
- Perform or oversee the completion of routine maintenance and repairs.
- Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
- Work cooperatively with other department managers to handle maintenance requests and the financing of maintenance through various funding streams.
- Ensure proper security measures including collaboration with security system provider.
- Prepare facilities for changing weather conditions.
- Collaborate with Facilities Director and other staff on creating, monitoring, and correcting the facilities budget.
- Ensure buildings are properly supplied with the materials needed for daily operations and cleaning.
- Obtain bids and recommend vendors for facilities projects.
- Ensure routine maintenance and repairs for LACC vehicles.
- Oversee staff recruitment, selection, promotion, corrective actions, performance appraisal, and terminations for the facilities department.
- Plan and monitor appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime.
- Mentor and coach facilities staff members to further develop competencies.
- Submit required monthly reports.
- Perform other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by a supervisor.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
