POSITION TITLE: SUMMER SUN Extended Day Instructor
CLASSIFICATION: Temporary
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
COMPENSATION: $17.50-$20 per hour, Position does not work on holidays, This is classified as a temporary, part-time position.

Summary Of Position
Facilitate primarily enrichment activities for students in the after school setting and academics as needed. The SUN Extended-day Instructor will structure student time to create a positive and safe environment for students as listed below . They will work directly with the SUN Site Manager and Extended Day Coordinators. SUN Extended-day Instructors are part time, temporary employees of Latino Network.

Essential Responsibilities
Organizational responsibilities:
Develop structured lessons that include: Art, Math, Reading, Sports, etc
Maintain and store Extended-day supplies properly
Work within school and agency policies such as school confidentiality and safety procedures
Classroom Responsibilities
Develop positive relationships with students and those affiliated with the school community
Use classroom management strategies that result in a positive and safe environment
Take attendance and monitor student behavior and class progress.
Communicate regularly with SUN SIte Manager about class progress
Program Responsibilities
Work with Site Manager and other staff to:
Assist in supervision during snack, recess, and dismissal; this may mean working with other colleagues
Assist with management of whole-group activities such as local Extended-day classes

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience instructing Extended-day in a K-8 setting.
- Enthusiasm and ability to work with children of various cultures and needs.
- An independent, self-motivated, creative and resourceful individual.
- Bilingual/bicultural experience from Latin-American region a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and communication skills.
- A cooperative manner and the ability to work as part of a team.
