What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineer position at Latitude, Inc.?
The Mechanical Engineer will be a member of the Engineering team and play a key role in the development and testing of all subsystems.
Core Accountabilities and Essential Functions
- Lead and/or support the development and operation of subsystems such as pressure control, thermal control, and air and water subsystems.
- Utilize the full spectrum of iterative development, rapid prototyping, design, analysis, test, and manufacturing techniques to create efficient systems.
- Participate in design reviews internally and participate in reviews with colleagues and suppliers.
- Ownership of product delivery timeline through conception, design, integration, and recovery.
Required Education and Experience
- 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in mechanical engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in designing and prototyping of mechanical, thermal, or fluid systems. MS Degree a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work well in an integrated, fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated experience in design engineering using CAD (NX, SOLIDWORKS, or Onshape preferred) for manufacturing, and integration exercises.
- Experience interfacing with manufacturing facilities
- Familiarity with measurement and control systems.
- Familiarity with scripting language such as MATLAB or Python.
- Ability to perform one or more basic structural, thermal, and CFD analyses.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
