Position Summary: The Quality Analyst is a subrogation expert who helps ensure high quality services by completing internal quality audits, identifying external client claims with subrogation potential through closed claim file reviews, and performing targeted audits of special topics. Provides analysis, reporting, and periodic program summaries for management. May participate in key quality controls such as inspection of high-risk activities within a subrogation process. Supports quality design, control, measurement, review, reporting, and continuous improvement. The Quality Analyst facilitates and supports claim recovery objectives and excellence in all aspects of subrogation performance.


Technical/Functional Responsibilities:

  • Audits and Reviews - Completes audits of internal subrogation claim handling and assessments of claim handler performance to evaluate quality and ensure client workflow compliance. Conducts audits of internal processes, procedures, practices and other topics to assess and promote quality and business control. Completes reviews of external closed claim files, occasionally onsite at client locations, to assess quality and identify subrogation potential.
  • Analysis - May complete trend analysis, root cause analysis, data analytics, and perform other analyses to understand the business drivers for operational results and identify areas for potential improvement.
  • Reporting - Summarizes review findings, conclusions and recommendations in concise and effective reports and presentations.
  • Action Plans - May assist with the design of action plans to improve performance, processes, and controls and/or track their status and results.
  • Quality Controls - May conduct assessments of key steps in the subrogation process, make or approve referrals or reassignments, or otherwise conduct activities to help ensure overall service success and quality.
  • Continuous Improvement - May lead or participate in process analysis and improvement projects.

Behavioral Competencies:

  • Subrogation Knowledge - Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of subrogation to include personal and commercial auto, medical payment, personal injury protection, homeowner and commercial property, workers compensation and product liability claims. Have awareness of laws that govern insurance claims by keeping current on critical case laws, statutes and trends in the field of subrogation. Manage the application of that knowledge to understand how best to maximize recovery efforts. Maintain certifications and licensures where applicable.

  • Computer Proficiency - Able to work in multiple computer systems efficiently and understand basic computer programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Documentation - Prioritize and appropriately document all audit activities. Identify and compile any information useful to provide reference for the subrogation and leadership teams. Report and analyze reviews and audits to include the identification of trends and feedback related to team and individual performance.
  • Customer Service and Communication Skills - Participate in client contact when required, provide timely verbal feedback and effective written reports and recommendations to the subrogation and management teams.
  • Teamwork - The position requires collaboration with subrogation specialists, supervisors and leadership, and the ability to gain the confidence and trust of team members and management by demonstrating professionalism and fairness. Able to work within a team environment in a positive and cooperative manner is critical to the success of this position. Must be productive, produce results and consistently perform at or above goals.

Requirements:

  • 5 years or more of multi-line insurance subrogation with inter-company arbitration filing and claims auditing experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma, prefer College Degree.
  • CSRP - Certified Subrogation Recovery Professional designation preferred.
  • Typing 45 wpm accurately.
  • Strong time and project management skills.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
  • Employment is contingent upon the employee maintaining adequate bandwidth for their home Internet as determined by Latitude's IT department. A wired Internet service provider and a wired workstation network connection is preferred and may be required.
