RN Nurse Educator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nursing Educator to join our team at Latta Rd Nursing Home. The Nursing Educator will be responsible for following NYS DOH regulations and providing high-quality education to our staff who wish to become Certified Nursing Assistants. The Nursing Educator will lead the orientation class and provide other educational in-services to ensure that our staff is knowledgeable, skilled, and up-to-date on the latest healthcare practices.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement training programs for our staff who wish to become an employee at the facility in compliance with NYS DOH regulations

Other relevant courses/in-services to educate our staff and ensure they are competent in their roles

Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and Administrators to create engaging and informative training materials

Develop and maintain training manuals and instructional materials to support the learning process

Assess the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement as needed

Provide regular feedback to staff and their managers on performance, and offer coaching and support to address areas of weakness

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations, trends, and practices to ensure that our staff is knowledgeable and skilled

Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and other relevant activities to stay up-to-date on the latest healthcare practices and trends

Requirements:

Nursing Degree or related field required

Current NYS RN license in good standing required

Minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing, Minimum 1 year in long-term care or rehabilitation setting

Knowledge of NYS DOH regulations related to nursing education and certification

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs
