ABOUT LAUNDROMUTT
We've been in the business of grooming dogs and educating their humans since 2004. In fact, Laundromutt was the first self–service dog wash in the Greater Boston area and was soon after followed by its two BYOD sister stores in Newton Centre and South Boston. Our founder, Elizabeth, was inspired to fill this important niche by her German Shepherd, Maya. Throughout her eleven years, Maya battled severe skin issues and one of the best remedies was to give her frequent medicated baths. However, groomers were an expensive option, the bathtub at home was a messy, back–braking option, and holding Maya under the cold–water hose in the backyard was not an option at all. It was through the trial and error of trying to help Maya find relief that Elizabeth realized the need for a self-service dog wash.
Our shops are fun, fast-paced environments where team members are surrounded by dogs large and small... and their owners. Everyone we work with loves animals as much as we do, and we foster that love by providing them with experience and educational opportunities. Thanks to Elizabeth's connections with the Wildlife Science Center and Minnesota Zoological Garden, we frequently host visits from animal experts who give excellent demonstrations about animal care and animal behavior. As our employees improve, our whole company improves. That's why we promote from within as we continue to grow and new positions become available.
