Housekeeper, Janitor

A technical school in Uniontown, PA is seeking an experienced Janitor / Maintenance to clean offices and classroom(10 a.m. -6 p.m.), Hours are flexible and we are able to work with your schedule! This is a temporary position with the possibility for long term employment.

June - August availability is a must ................

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the order, cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality of our facilities. This position requires a proactive and hands-on approach to address day-to-day maintenance tasks, ensuring a welcoming and well-maintained environment for both employees , students , and visitors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Cleaning and Sanitation:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, break rooms, common areas, and classrooms regularly.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies. Place orders for supplies as needed, adhering to budgetary constraints.
• Collect and dispose of trash in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all floor surfaces, including carpets and hard floors.
• Report and communicate any major maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Monitor and address safety hazards, ensuring a secure environment for all occupants.
• Assist in the implementation of emergency procedures.
• Work with others on the team in addressing inclement weather.
• Report any security concerns or incidents promptly.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in janitorial or facility maintenance roles.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and procedures.
• Basic understanding of maintenance and repair tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting and bending.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.

In addition to the above traits, candidates must have the following:

• US Work Authorization
• Ability to navigate stairs/stairwells to get to job location(s)
• Access to reliable transportation
• Ability to work in environments that can become extremely hot/humid
• A passion to do things right is a MUST!

Previous cleaning experience required. Must be detail oriented, trustworthy and reliable. Experience with tile floor maintenance is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time/ Full Time

Pay rate - Hourly - $15.00 - DOE
