We are seeking a dedicated and talented Director of Photography to join our dynamic team and lead our visual storytelling efforts.

Job Summary:

As the Director of Photography, you will be a key member of our educational institution, responsible for capturing and enhancing the visual narrative of our organization. You will work closely with a team of photographers, and executive members to ensure the highest photography standards are met, from college campuses to elementary schools. Your role will encompass everything from advising and training photographers to overseeing daily image quality and introducing innovative photography strategies to enrich our programs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Photography Advisory:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to photographers across all levels
  • Offer expertise on photography techniques, composition, lighting, and equipment to enhance the skills of our photographers.
  • Address photography-related questions and concerns from staff, students, and parents as needed.

2. Training and Development:

  • Develop and deliver photography training programs for our photographers, ensuring they are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills.
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and practical sessions to improve the capabilities of the photography team.
  • Continuously assess and update training materials to align with industry best practices.

3. Image Quality Assurance:

  • Oversee the daily capture and editing of images, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Establish and maintain a rigorous image review and selection process.
  • Collaborate with photographers to improve image quality and consistency.

4. Innovation and Program Enhancement:

  • Stay current with photography trends and technologies to introduce innovative ideas for enhancing our visual content.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop new photography strategies that align with our educational goals.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and expansion of photography programs within our educational institution.

5. Team Collaboration:

  • Foster a collaborative and creative environment within the photography team.
  • Work closely with educators, administrators, and other departments to support the integration of photography into the curriculum and educational events.
  • Join our weekly meetings as the photography voice and keep the team updated on what is going on behind the camera and in front.
  • Equipment Management

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a professional photographer, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in various styles and settings.
  • Strong teaching and mentorship skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of photography equipment, software, and post-production techniques.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to introduce creative approaches to photography programs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering the highest quality work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
