Lavarex USA is seeking a Cost Report Paraprofessional to join a client of ours in a growing and well-established national accounting and advisory services firm.
Our client is an industry leader in assisting agencies with federal and state reimbursement programs and responding to the ever-changing regulatory environment. The Cost Report Specialist is specifically responsible for cost report preparation for both state and federal government healthcare programs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare required governmental cost reports for healthcare clients (nursing homes).
- Work with Excel spreadsheets to prepare work papers and supplemental schedules.
- Acquire necessary information and documentation for preparation of report through direct contact with clients.
- Research various Healthcare provider industry issues.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments affecting Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and other technical areas.
- Research and write bulletins.
- Work with staff and partners on various Healthcare projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance a plus
- 1-2 years experience in producing Medicaid cost reports on behalf of healthcare/nursing home providers
- Demonstrated expertise of Illinois state reimbursement process (knowledge of other states' reimbursement processes a plus)
- Thorough understanding of titles XVIII and XIX regarding Medicare and Medicaid laws
- Demonstrated competence in advanced functions in Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work in a team environment
- Experience working directly with state healthcare agencies
- Client management and interaction experience a plus
