Cost Report Paraprofessional

Lavarex USA is seeking a Cost Report Paraprofessional to join a client of ours in a growing and well-established national accounting and advisory services firm.

Our client is an industry leader in assisting agencies with federal and state reimbursement programs and responding to the ever-changing regulatory environment. The Cost Report Specialist is specifically responsible for cost report preparation for both state and federal government healthcare programs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare required governmental cost reports for healthcare clients (nursing homes).
• Work with Excel spreadsheets to prepare work papers and supplemental schedules.
• Acquire necessary information and documentation for preparation of report through direct contact with clients.
• Research various Healthcare provider industry issues.
• Keep abreast of the latest developments affecting Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and other technical areas.
• Research and write bulletins.
• Work with staff and partners on various Healthcare projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance a plus
• 1-2 years experience in producing Medicaid cost reports on behalf of healthcare/nursing home providers
• Demonstrated expertise of Illinois state reimbursement process (knowledge of other states' reimbursement processes a plus)
• Thorough understanding of titles XVIII and XIX regarding Medicare and Medicaid laws
• Demonstrated competence in advanced functions in Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work in a team environment
• Experience working directly with state healthcare agencies
• Client management and interaction experience a plus
