Job Posting for Administrative Assistant, Student Services at District Office
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prefer high school diploma or equivalent. Prefer three years of experience in a related field.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Student Services
JOB GOAL:
Performs secretarial duties in the district office
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and record individualized education programs and other special education documents.
Review and record Section 504 Plans and related documents.
Notify special education staff of newly-enrolled special education and Section 504 students.
Create purchase orders and manage monthly invoices.
Communicate with transportation regarding specialized routing.
Record attendance for private day school, homebound, and Head Start students.
Track student eligibility for alternative assessment, extended school year, sensory services, and alternative to suspension programs.
Answers telephone to provide information, take messages, or transfer calls.
Prepares and compiles various departmental records and reports.
Compiles statistical reports and maintains special education staff caseloads.
Maintains and keep safe, official school district documents and student records.
Maintains staff rosters.
Performs other job duties as assigned.

Perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios.
Read a variety of manuals; writes documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others.
Understand multi-step written and oral instructions.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet and district software and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and other appropriate technology software).
Knowledge of appropriate business machines and telephones.
Monitor special system(s), not limited to, including security and fire alarm systems.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve-month, employee pay and benefits in accordance with Board policy.
FLSA: Non-Exempt
