Join Our Team! Lavelle Industries is looking to add an Electromechanical Technician to our Whitewater location. This position will work directly alongside our engineering and maintenance teams and focus on troubleshooting and increasing OEE through improvement projects. The Electromechanical Technician be involved with a wide breadth of machine and process troubleshooting.
The Electromechanical Technician will work with Engineering to analyze data from various sources and make recommendations for equipment improvements that will lead to improved OEE. As part of the improvement cycle, The Electromechanical Technician will be heavily involved in the physical execution of these improvement projects.
In addition to making improvements to existing processes, the Electromechanical Technician will assist maintenance team with troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support all automation initiatives primarily through troubleshooting and repair of automation equipment including PLC control adjustments.
- Participate on continuous improvement teams focusing on automation.
- Respond decisively to equipment issues and implementing effective/sustainable corrective actions.
- Build Electrical Control Panels and pneumatic panels from Schematic drawings, making sure any changes are documented.
- Training maintenance employees on basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Fill the role of consultant when the Maintenance team has exhausted their resources on an any equipment issue.
- Support the plant in general maintenance objectives when necessary.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Experience in a manufacturing/facilities environment.
- Associate's degree Electromechanical Technology is preferred.
- Experience with electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays)
- Experience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting)
- Experience with product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs).
- Experience with schematics (e.g., electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, relays).
- Experience with troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns).
- Experience with troubleshooting (e.g., diagnostics, problem solving, etc.).
- Experience with reading mechanical drawings (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics)
- Working knowledge of PLCs, including updating and troubleshooting., Control Panel Building and pneumatic experience a plus.
- Must be a self-started with excellent time, and project management skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word and other Web-based applications
- Ignition or Python knowledge is desirable.
- Approachable & willing to listen to others.
- 0 – 5 years experience.
