Description
MISSION: To teach, analyze data, communicate the information to team members and to become a resource in problem solving and improving our processes and products. Also, ensure that products meet or exceed our customers’ requirements and is safe to eat.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fill the role of a teacher, coach, and expert to solve problems instead of just reporting deficiencies.
- Be a resource to the functional and delight teams.
- Be able to understand and communicate customer requirements for all products as well as communicating with customers as needed.
- Monitor production activities to ensure all quality and food safety procedures are understood and are being followed.
- Troubleshoot quality and food safety concerns as they arise and assist Production Supervisors and Leads to resolve any issues.
- Able to demonstrate why product doesn’t meet the quality expectations through navigation and use of the SPC software
- Assure that General Safety and Food Safety is an absolute priority by setting an example.
- Look for and provide input for ways to improve processes.
- Have a generalized knowledge in all areas of the business.
- Oversee the SPC program capability studies, and train QA Team to assist in training key operators on basic SPC principles
- Ability to write programs, policies, and procedures.
SPECIFIC TASKS:
- Build items and attributes in SPC system.
- Epi QA training program involvement and oversite.
- Oversee the weekly Food Safety Inspections.
- CCP/PC verifications and other validation requirements.
- Train QA Team to lead investigations, assist in the development of root cause and corrective actions for assigned customer complaints.
- Lead QA Team in conducting internal audits and document/report findings. Assist in the development of root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Highly involved and engaged in all 3rd party or customer audits
- Assist in training new employees on GMPs, Allergen Program and other Quality and Food Safety procedures.
- Responsible for the control of hold products
- Perform product testing and evaluation studies.
- Assist QA Team in monitoring and recording product quality to ensure proper specifications including weight, size, color, etc.
- Cover all of QA Manager duties in case of absence

REQUIRED TRAINING:
- Be able to read and write English for effective communication.
- Must be able to use thermometer, timer, caliper, pH meter, and other general tools associated with this position.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
- Follow written and verbal instructions, and communicate with others.
- Expected to work scheduled hours up to 12 + hour shifts when needed.
- Expected to work flexible hours depending on quality assurance needs.
- Expected to be able to walk around entire work area with periods of standing.
- Must be able to tolerate working on cement floors.
- Will be expected to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Repetitive motion will be required with some tasks.
