What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Manager Credit Control & Cash Management position at Law Debenture?
Essential Purpose of the role:
The Finance Manager Credit Control & Cash Management is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of day-to-day operations of the Credit Control and Cash Management teams in the Law Deb Shared Service Centre. A key focus of the role is the ongoing coaching and development of SSC colleagues.
Job Role & Responsibilities:
- Manage, develop, and coach the team. Support their professional development by encouraging personal development and providing regular feedback. Articulates strategic goals to their team
- Work with the Director of Shared Services to drive the vision of Finance and Law Deb and supports delivery of strategic goals
- Drive improvements to timely process execution across the SSC to enhance customer satisfaction and improve quality
- Collaborates with SSC Finance Manager AP, Billing & Master Data on all SSC processes to ensure a high standard of service execution for our customers both internal and external. Understands the wider purpose of Finance and the annual finance cycle
- Supports the Credit Control team to ensure customer balances are collected in line with agreed payment terms and that cash is applied in a timely way
- Oversees plan to tackle legacy aged debtors, misallocated cash and cash in suspense accounts
- Support the Cash Management team to ensure cashbooks are reconciled timely and ensure that all cash receipts and payments are accurately posted in Sage Intacct
- Work with the Director of Shared Services to ensure a robust control environment. Identify risk areas and implement processes to mitigate. Ensure all internal controls are operating and monitored
- Regularly review aged creditor and aged debtor reports. Escalate areas of risk to the Director of Shared Services and Group Financial Controller with actions agreed for resolution
- Oversee service management processes and resolve and escalate any issues or complaints received. Communicates clearly across a broad spectrum of stakeholders
- Review and monitor operational KPIs and SLAs, looking for trends and areas for continuous improvement. Supports team to drive down DSO (Days Sales Outstanding)
- Ensure all SSC MI and reporting is produced timely and shared with the appropriate stakeholders
Required &/or Preferred Qualifications:
Key requirements

- Accounts Receivable and Credit Control experience
- Outstanding numeracy, data management and manipulation skills
- Strong communication skills and an inquisitive mind
- IT literate, including strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Knowledge of Sage Intacct (preferred – not essential)
- Service management experience with a client-driven approach
