Role And Responsibilities
- Play a crucial role in creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation that supports our products and services.
- Responsible for content of technical documentation.
- Check author's document for spelling, grammar, and content problems (e.g., missing instructions or sections; redundant or unnecessary sections).
- Accuracy of content may fall under this position or the programmer, depending on the expertise of the editor.
- Ensure that documents follow the style laid out in the organization's style guide.
- May also be responsible for maintaining the style guide.
- Suggest revisions to the style guide as appropriate
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; Collaborating with programmers, other team members, and stakeholders, as well as for suggesting and implementing revisions to the style guide.
- Attention to detail; Essential for reviewing documents for spelling, grammar, and content accuracy, ensuring all documentation meets high standards.
- Strong organizational skills to manage documentation, maintain the style guide, and keep track of revisions and updates systematically.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with team members and other stakeholders, facilitating smooth communication and collaboration.
- Proficiency in creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation, ensuring clarity, consistency, and technical accuracy.
- Experience with document management and version control systems, ensuring proper documentation tracking and updates.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms used for managing and publishing technical documents.
- Capacity to work with others in a high-functioning collaborative and innovative environment
- Minimum of 15 years experience in a matrixed, high-functioning environment working as a Technical Editor or similar; experience must be coupled with a Bachelor of Arts or Science in a related field; 10 years experience with a Master of Arts or Science in a related field preferred
- Active Secret clearance required
- Must be a US Citizen
