Irrigation Technician
Objective & Responsibilities:
The Irrigation Specialist is a highly detailed and experienced irrigation professional who is proficient in all aspects of residential and commercial irrigation applications. The irrigation specialist’s main objective is to maintain our client’s irrigation systems while providing exceptional customer service. Irrigation specialists can work well with minimal supervision and provide a safe environment for themselves, crew members and clients while meeting budget and time requirements. The best applicants are strong leaders driven by core values, goals, and a genuine love of the outdoors and serving people.
Experience, Skills & Education
2 years experience working with residential and commercial irrigation systems
Effective oral and written communication skills
High School degree or GED equivalent.
Valid Driver's License to operate a company vehicle
Services irrigation systems to work order specifications
Good written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual in English & Spanish is a PLUS!
Troubleshoots & fix system problems (wires, valves, fix leaks, repair damaged sprinkler heads, pumps, etc.) to make systems work correctly.
Must be proficient in start-up, Winterization, efficient scheduling, auditing, and maintenance/repair for residential and commercial systems.
Ability to maintain a professional, positive and charismatic demeanor at all times.
Must be familiar with water supplies from city source, well pumped, and lake fed
Needs good working knowledge of traditional and 2 wire irrigation systems
Ensure that customers are completely satisfied through effective communication, relationship building, regular site visits and consistent quality of service
Know how to manage time effectively and efficiently
Have a basic working knowledge of all equipment used and ensure equipment is operational and functional as needed by teams
Strong time management and organizational skills are a must
Be able to provide a hands-on approach to task management
Must be able to lift 80 lbs. up to shoulder height.
Must be able to withstand working in all types of weather and extreme temperatures.
Must be able to work on feet for at least 10 hours per day.
Knowledge of basic electrical and hydraulics related to the system including voltages, amperage, valves, controllers, pumps, water flow, and pressure demands
A thorough knowledge of ALL irrigation controller programming
A thorough knowledge of irrigation troubleshooting techniques electrical and hydraulic
A thorough knowledge of and ability to read blueprints
Ability to work with smartphones and tablets to read schedules, input materials, and track times.
