About This Position at GMS:
The paraprofessional will help to close the achievement gap by working with small groups, individuals, and the whole class to ensure that students are receiving appropriate support and necessary accommodations. This individual will report to the Principal overall and classroom teachers on a daily basis. The paraprofessional will work closely with the grade level team, special education staff members, and school administration. As a paraprofessional, you may be assigned to one or more of the following roles:
Classroom Paraprofessional: Providing support and accommodations to an assigned classroom of students
Individual Paraprofessional: Providing support and accommodations to one student
Responsibilities:
The paraprofessional’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Teach, reinforce, and remediate academic content with individual students, small groups of students, and whole class of students;
Provide support, accommodations, and attention to students;
Support teacher in tasks, including but not limited to setting up and maintaining the classroom, distributing and collecting materials, communicating with families, coordinating opportunities for students, and more;
Ensure students are engaged and invested in the classroom, managing behavior and providing incentives (especially for those students who need modified behavior plans and systems);
Correct homework, classwork, quizzes, and tests; and
Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree or ParaPro Assessment Passing Score Required;
Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred;
Experience working with children preferred; and
Current Authorization to work in the United States.

Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
