What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Laya Hollywood?
From the operators of La Mesa Lounge, Le Jardin, Sunset Room & LURE comes Laya, an elevated dining experience debuting in Hollywood June 2024.
Greeting Guests & Customer Service:
- Welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant with a warm and friendly demeanor. Assist guests with seating arrangements, taking into account their preferences and any special requests.
- Manage waiting lists during peak hours, ensuring guests are informed of wait times and kept comfortable.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns and resolving any issues in a professional manner.
- Ensure guests leave with a positive impression of the restaurant and a desire to return.
Reservation Management:
- Handle incoming reservation inquiries via phone, email, or in-person.
- Accurately record reservation details and update the reservation system accordingly.
- Organize seating assignments to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction.
Communication and Coordination:
- Maintain effective communication with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operation.
- Relay special requests, dietary restrictions, and other relevant information to the appropriate team members.
- Coordinate with other front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.
Appearance and Presentation:
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times, adhering to the restaurant's dress code.
- Keep the hostess stand and entrance area clean and organized, presenting an inviting atmosphere to guests.
Team Support:
- Assist with various tasks during slow periods, such as rolling silverware, restocking supplies, or helping with to-go orders.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure all aspects of service run smoothly.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a hostess or similar customer service role preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of SevenRooms a plus
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
