What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Accountant position at Lazydays RV?
SUMMARY:
As a payroll accountant, you will work closely with the payroll and accounting teams, collaborating to ensure the accuracy of the payroll general ledger, taxes, and garnishments. This includes setting up new taxes in states, counties, and cities and updating UKG to ensure proper deductions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Updating and reconciling payroll and accounting files, general ledger, and tax documents

Research and resolve payroll discrepancies

Maintain multi-entity payroll general ledger account mapping

Perform funding reconciliations of net pay, garnishments, and payroll tax between systems

Performing accurate tax deductions

Preparing payroll and tax reports for federal, state, and local agencies when required

Ensure compliance with governmental laws on payroll accounting and taxes

Participate in payroll audits, including quarterly and year-end closeout

Prepare accounting files, records, and schedules

Reviewing company payroll system and suggesting improvements
-
Completes various HR/Payroll projects in a timely manner

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

An associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or relative experience

Previous experience as a payroll accountant or in a similar role

In-dept knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes

Understanding local and governmental rules about payroll

Ability to perform in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel

Strong organizational skills

Great computational ability

Attention to detail

FPC or CPP designation preferred

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
