Job Summary:
This position translates executive strategies into supply chain functions and provides strategic and tactical supply chain leadership. The Senior Supply Chain Manager coordinates, organizes, and oversees all activities involved in the identification, acquisition, production planning, inventory planning, and distribution of the company’s goods. This position is responsible for facilitating implementation of strategic purchasing goals and tactical procurement initiatives at multiple plant locations to improve gross margin and customer satisfaction levels.
Essential Functions:
- Works directly with business unit teams to develop and implement best-in-class business processes and application solutions.
- Ensure all material requirements are met, and that the locations are supplied with goods and services required to maintain continuous operation as required by business conditions
- Enforce all supply chain policies and practices
- identify and implement cost reduction activities using optimized process
- Strive to achieve maximum leverage of L.B. Foster spend, competitive sourcing and supplier collaboration to reduce costs
- Evaluate inventories of purchased material
- Drive inventory reduction initiatives through consignment, vendor managed inventories, shared inventories, improved buying methodology, process improvement and other inventory management tools
- Ensure compliance with LB Foster standards and local regulations for assigned locations
- Provide data for supply chain related ISO and other audit protocols required by the business unit
- Accountable for any corrective actions generated by audits affecting buying/planning activities at that location
- ERP System assessment and implementation (current and future)
- Manufacturing decision models (ie Vertical, outsource, mixed mode etc)
- Value engineering and cost reduction initiatives and meet business unit and user requirements.
- Improve speed and quality of information to supply chain management
- Reduce touch time and administrative burden in all focus areas
- Drive measurable results in Supply Chain KPIs (ie Customer OTD, Supplier OTD, InvTurns, Order
Experience, Education, & License Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field required
- 8 years of Supply Chain Management or a related field
- 2-4 years of managerial experience
Skills & Abilities:
- Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP/Microsoft Dynamics AX/Visual/JD Edwards.
- Mastery of integrated ERP / MRP enterprise solutions required pertaining to Supply Chain
- Strong MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, MS Project
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven focus on internal and external customer satisfaction and ability to work as part of a diverse team.
