The Traveling Resident Care Specialist, RN is responsible for assisting with the coordination of the resident care department in a specified community. The Resident Care Specialist is responsible in ensuring that the community remains complaint with community, company, and state specific regulations and guidelines. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, assisting the community with the budgeted labor hours; assisting the community with achieving appropriate revenue generators; assisting the community with appropriate scheduling needs; assisting the community with the move in process & minimizing the move out process, assisting the community with systems, processes, and enhancing the resident/resident family experience.
They will assist with the hire process, coordinate and monitor performance in accordance with LCB Senior Living policy. The Resident Care Specialist shall also foster a positive team spirit within the community to include, but not limited to, the Executive Director, the nursing staff, the sales & marketing staff, the engagement and reflections staff, the housekeeping, and dining staff.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
- Computer Skills: Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, database managers presentation software.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The ability to handle multiple priorities. Must be knowledgeable about care for seniors with dementia according to LCB Senior Living Policy, as well as current State and local standards. The ability to handle emergency situations calmly and completely is essential.
- Education: Registered Nurse
- Experience: Shall, at a minimum be at least 25 years of age and must have at least (2) years of demonstrated and progressive experience with caring for seniors and supervisory management skills. Proven leadership is required.
- Certificates/Licenses: Certificates or education as required by State/Federal regulatory agencies, if applicable. Active & without disciplinary action taken against one’s license. Valid driver’s license is required.
- Travel: New England states. Overnight stay shall be required

- Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co- workers and the surrounding community.
- As a corporate leader you are expected to have an active role in growing community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members and professionals.
- Assume the Administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of assisting the community with directing and management of the Residence.
- Ensures open and timely communication with associates, residents, families and LCB Senior Living regarding community operations and programs.
- Responsible for compliance with LCB Senior Living’s Policies and Procedures, as well as laws, regulations and legal requirements governing the operation of the community.
- Develop and implement quality improvement process, strategic planning process and environmental safety program in order to maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents and guests.

- Assist with the management of a community outreach plan and liaison network with industry partners for the purposes of identifying and partnering with local service resources.
- Ensure associates are given the necessary resources to carry out their duties in an efficient economic manner.
- Assist with the maintenance of departmental budgets.
- Assure implementation of all operating and financial controls required under community and LCB Senior Living policy.
- Ensure proper planning and implantation of staff orientation and training.
- Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with all departments to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas and overall improvement of services.
- Ensure completion of timely associate reviews.
- Ensure that counselling efforts, retraining and corrective action is administered fairly and in accordance with LCB Senior Living policies.
- .Knowledge of all states’ regulations and state specific compliance measures.
- Ensure completion and review of incident/accident reports and implement changes through proper channels (i.e. Safety Committee, etc.) to minimize future issues. Ensure proper communication with LCB Senior Living and state compliance reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget in conjunction with LCB Senior Living. Ensure communication of what resources are required to carry out programs and activities of the community.
- Review resident complaints and grievances and assure appropriate actions are taken. Discuss with residents and families as appropriate. Participating in family meetings is required.
- Oversight of all record keeping functions within the facility, including those records which are necessary to disclose fully the services provided.
- Ensuring that all required staffing and schedules (if applicable), including backup coverage for staff is met at all times.
- Conducting and/or attending required in-service training and orientation, as per state regulations.
- Assisting with the daily operation of the residence and providing the direction and leadership to Department Managers to ensure their success.
