Diesel Generator Technician

LCE Telecom, Inc. is your independent full-service wireless telecom installation, maintenance, and emergency specialist. We are proud to continue building the vast Southern California wireless network for most major carriers.

This role is responsible for service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs primarily diesel generators, and boom trucks (bucket trucks) with hydraulic issues.

Essential Duties:

1. Perform preventative maintenance on diesel generators and boom truck's hydraulic systems.

2. Analyzes complex problems by interpreting maintenance manuals, using knowledge of systems and electronics to isolate and correct the faults.

3. Troubleshoot and diagnose emergency repair of AC/DC controls, diesel engines, automatic transfer switches, and bypass isolation.

4. Remove and replace any component necessary following manufacturer guidelines.

5. Performs testing, calibration, checking, correcting, adjusting, and part component replacement services.

6. Performs load bank testing on generator(s) to ensure units are in the proper operating condition and meet applicable code requirements.

7. Ability to deliver and hook up generators to various sites in Southern California.

8. Responsible for maintaining service and repair logs.

9. Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the company.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the backup generator industry or a transferable industry.

· Experience with control circuits, diesel engines, fuel systems; and generator testing.

· Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and basic boom maintenance.

· Must be able to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics.

· Must have a thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair; advanced knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.

· Advanced knowledge of automatic transfer switches and control logic is required.

· Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier (No DUI’s).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
