We have an opportunity for an Engineering Analyst to be part of the critical elements of the project’s lifecycle. This opportunity will allow you to become a resources and domain expert in the area of as-built and record drawing. As a member of the as-built team, you will visit substations, verify as-found conditions, and use your expertise to ensure our substation engineering drawings are properly documented, archived, and ready for the next project. At an experienced level, you will be able to identify potential areas of improvement for design and mentor less-experienced designers and engineers on how substations are built. You will also ensure that all current conditions, field changes, construction modifications, shop drawing changes, etc. are collected and flow through the design and documentation procedures. You will also lead site visits, quality assurance process, and new process improvement developments.
Key Functions of the Job:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, construction drawings, red lines, and other technical information.
- Coordinate and schedule as-built activities with our engineering partners. .
- Ensure the top quality of as-built deliverables for internal and outsourced designs.
- Communicate feedback to designers and engineering partners on changes happening between design and the construction stage.
- Performs engineering analysis and calculations to determine and ensure that job requirements are accurate and conform to standards, safety orders, and government and environmental regulations. Reports results to engineer.
- Uses CAD software and equipment to prepare detailed, complex engineering diagrams, schematics, working drawings and layout drawings from concept or provided materials.
- Captures engineering and field information by traveling independently to various locations throughout our service area.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Eight or more years of experience interpreting technical drawings/documents and performing technical analysis; drafting using computer-aided design software; or performing engineering design, including at least five years of experience performing engineering design.
- A degree in computer-aided design, engineering technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct design experience in one or more of the following substation-related areas: Structural, Civil, Relay and Control, and Electrical Design.
- Familiarity with Engineering Document Management systems such as Blue Cielo Meridian or similar.
- Familiarity integrating digital mark-ups in the support of engineering projects.

Schedule:
