Power Plant Control Room Operator

Operates power plant boiler, turbine, generator, scrubber if coal unit, and auxiliary equipment to produce
electric power. Communicates and coordinates work activities with LCRA's Generation Desk (GenDesk) to
meet generation demand load requirements. This position utilizes in-depth knowledge of best practices and
experience in own discipline to provide and improve services. Takes a new perspective to solve complex
problems. Works independently and receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with

You will be trusted to :
At an expert level and under limited Supervision :
- Coordinate operation of the Boiler, Turbine, Generator and Auxiliary Controls to meet the needs of the Electric Grid.
- Perform Unit walk downs and monitoring of Operating equipment as required while performing Plant Operator functions.
- Provide guidance and mentorship for Operator Trainees.
You qualify with :
- Five or more years of experience in power plant operations or power plant maintenance, including at least one year operating the unit control board with little or no supervision and including at least one unit startup and at least one unit shutdown or relevant experience.
- A degree(s) in power plant operations or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Successful completion through Level IV of the plant operations curriculum of the Power Plants' Craft Qualification Program substitutes for five years of experience.
