We are seeking a Compliance Officer to join our growing team. Under the direction of the Director of Compliance, the Compliance Officer will continuously define and refine the Banks’ Compliance Program. They will apply established legal, compliance, and risk management theory and methods to the evolving external regulatory environment faced by Lead Bank.

In this role you will:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations and procedures in Compliance including compliance testing and monitoring, and policy/procedures governance.
- Work closely with management in the development and enhancement of compliance risk assessments, exam management, compliance-related training and reporting, and ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations. Assistance with fair lending and consumer complaints may also be requested.
- Serve as the Banks’ Compliance Officer and subject matter expert for traditional bank compliance matters for products and services currently offered, as well as future products and services the Bank develops.
- Collaborate with the Director of Compliance to maintain a completed and detailed paradigm for compliance that reflects the evolving external environment.
- In conjunction with the Director of Compliance:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive compliance testing/monitoring program to ensure that internal Bank personnel adhere to established procedures and practices.
- Generate or oversee the creation of explanatory reports. Make recommendations to address deficiencies found through compliance testing and/or monitoring.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive compliance training program.
- Develop, publish, and interpret compliance guidance statements that constitute Bank compliance policy and impact operations.
- Add value through the exercise of mature business judgment, legal or product knowledge, risk management theory, deep knowledge of bank systems and processes, and an awareness of contemporary and historical compliance issues, theory and methods.
- Analyze and standardize processes and procedures as needed to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist, as needed, in the fair lending and consumer complaint process, investigating and responding to consumer complaints, recommending reasonable action as needed.
- Oversee the development and implementation of databases, systems and reports to support compliance department objectives, projects, deliverables, and quality control initiatives.
- Provide compliance review and day-to-day engagement with business units that produce Bank product information including web content, applicant brochures, packaging, television and radio spots, telemarketing scripts, direct mail and email messages, and similar marketing and promotional materials as assigned.
- Provide compliance review and day-to-day engagement with units including retail branch banking, retail portfolio lending and other components of traditional community banking activities.
- Maintain all relevant certifications and attend continuing education seminars and conferences as directed.
- Supervise team members to ensure timely and effective execution of compliance work agenda, goals and objectives.
- Recruit, hire, develop and train compliance team members.
- Conduct regular team meetings to inform, update, identify and resolve issues, track & measure production metrics and performance and build the team.
- Conduct monthly one-on-ones and annual performance reviews with all team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5 years experience in a bank consumer compliance management and/or lead role.
- Previous experience reviewing, analyzing, recommending, and reporting on the activities of Bank departments as it pertains to compliance matters.
- CRCM certification preferred.
