Job Description: Site Coach
Under direction of the Director of Instructional Programs and Performance, the Site Coach works with the DIPP to ensure that program activities in general as well as programming with key partners, public agencies and detention facilities, are done so in accordance with contractual obligations. In addition, the Site Coach will exercise control over general and specific program provisions such as supporting raising student achievement in preparation for success in postsecondary education, career, and community leadership across the school in all phases of the overall program.
REPORTS TO: Director of Instructional Programs and Performance
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in planning and/or providing constituent services
- Ability to work with a diverse, multicultural staff and students
- Familiarity with alternative education and school-to-career practices
- Commitment to NOYN school model and implementation with fidelity.
- Ability to effectively network with public and private sector stakeholders
- Ability to manage contract agreements
- Experience with managing a staff team toward successful outcomes
- Experience in the development and implementation of program management systems and procedures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in Efforts-to-Outcomes (ETO) software
- Knowledge of re-entry programming and policy
- Knowledge of education policy and programming
RESPONSIBILITIES & PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
- Manages YouthBuild Newark core program service delivery to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accord with specified objectives through review and interpretation of applicable guidelines.
- Manages the general oversight of service provision. Confers with program personnel to provide technical advice and to assist in solving problems. Develops and updates program priority plans and policies to accommodate new statutory and/or contractual responsibilities.
- Responsible for managing a workforce development component that will establish formal relationships with employers and facilitate a process by which students are systematically placed into viable employment opportunities upon program completion (i.e. variety of disciplines in addition to construction).
- Manage the cyclical data reporting and program performance cycle and reports
- Assists with agency strategic planning efforts
- Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.
- Assists with special projects, as needed, that promote the objectives of the agency.
- Effectively contributes to the execution of the student registration process which is inclusive of Mental Toughness planning, facilitation and reflection activities.
- Understands and demonstrates effective partnership management across agencies in order to effectively serve the needs of participants; ensure partnerships reflect education and training providers, the workforce investment system, employers, the juvenile justice system, and faith-based and community-based organizations.
- Works toward professional growth and meets the role model standards of a youth development practitioner and educator.
- Participate in weekly education team meetings, full-staff meetings, interdisciplinary team meetings, and other small group/special project meetings, as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Full Time. Twelve-month employee. Salary based on experience and board approval.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the board's policy on evaluation.
