LEAD Technical is seeking a talented Accounting Manager to join our client’s team in Smithville, TN to lead their overall plant accounting functions. As a vital contributor to company success, the incumbent in this role will play a crucial part in achieving organizational goals by delivering precise and punctual financial insights to inform strategic management decisions. The position entails a multifaceted range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.
Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
Administrator for Purchase Cards: Oversee and manage the administration of purchase cards, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Expense Reports: Review and allocate account numbers for expense reports, maintaining meticulous record-keeping.
Cash Batches: Approve and sign all posted cash batches to guarantee financial accuracy.
Journal Entries: Authorize, sign, and post all manual journal entries for comprehensive financial record-keeping.
Financial Reporting: Develop and maintain monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) and balance sheet in Excel, facilitating comprehensive financial oversight.
Cognos Reports: Generate Cognos reports as needed, ensuring data accuracy and relevance.
Data Management: Input monthly and quarterly data into Stravis, meeting Shiroki Japan's reporting requirements.
Audits: Plan and coordinate monthly and quarterly audits for thorough financial scrutiny.
Inventory Management: Create physical inventory tag sheets, supervise keyers, and generate comprehensive variance reports for management review.
Bank Access: Maintain and oversee access to the bank website for secure and efficient financial transactions.
Tax Compliance: Collaborate with external entities (Baden Tax, KPMG) on personal property tax and other tax-related matters.
Tax Provision Workpapers: Complete tax provision workpapers for external company (KPMG) to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Reporting Functions: Regularly report labor and sales to department heads on a weekly basis, and tooling status on a monthly basis.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage the Accounts Payable function, ensuring correct workflow and accuracy. Oversee Accounts Receivable to ensure timely collections.
Financial Reports: Prepare and submit monthly financial reports for Shiroki Global Accounting.
Month-End Close: Take charge of the month-end close process and publish comprehensive month-end reports.
Bank Transactions: Handle various bank transactions, including wire transfers, loans, cash balance management, and check runs.
Governmental Reporting: Prepare and submit all required governmental reports in compliance with regulations.
Budget Preparation: Lead the preparation of the yearly budget, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Account Manager Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. A strong foundation in accounting principles is essential to excel in this role.
Professional Experience: Proven track record with 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Accounting, showcasing expertise in areas such as General Accounting, Cost Accounting, Budgeting, and Accounts Payable/Receivable.
Accounting Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards, with a demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge effectively in a professional setting.
General Accounting Skills: Extensive experience in General Accounting functions, including the preparation of financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliation processes.
Cost Accounting Expertise: Comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience in Cost Accounting, encompassing the ability to analyze costs, identify areas for improvement, and implement cost-saving measures.
Budgeting Acumen: Proven proficiency in budgeting processes, involving the development, monitoring, and analysis of budgets to ensure financial goals align with organizational objectives.
Accounts Payable/Receivable Mastery: Substantial expertise in managing both Accounts Payable and Receivable functions, including overseeing workflow, ensuring accuracy, and optimizing processes for efficiency.
Regulatory Compliance: Demonstrated understanding of and adherence to relevant accounting regulations, compliance standards, and financial reporting requirements.
