Nature Day Camp Counselor
Classification: Seasonal Non-Exempt
Mission: Leadership Academy provides summer enrichment programs that engage children in outdoor play and informal environmental education to raise awareness, foster respect and share enthusiasm for the natural environment.
Summary: Under the direction of the Camp Director and the Camp Owner; Camp Counselors will be directly responsible for providing programming and a safe environment for a group of 8-12 campers. Our summer camps are all outside and you must be excited and willing to spend 8-9 hours a day in nature.
Dates: May 28-August 2, with a week off July 1-5.

Functions of the Job:
- Deliver a camp program that connects children with nature, fosters an attitude of conservation and ensures the program delivery in a safe and quality manner.
- Provide leadership and supervision to the campers.
- Follow Camp rules and risk management procedures to keep campers safe.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with campers, parents and staff.
Qualifications:
- Must have 1-2 years experience working with children.
- Preferred: Summer camp experience.
- Preferred: Some college coursework.
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires the ability to walk for long distances, in hilly and uneven terrain and in various environmental conditions such as heat or rain. This position also requires counselors to listen to others, observe others’ actions, read text and information and to comprehend instructions and manuals.
