League City Pain and Wellness Center is looking for a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant to join our rapidly growing practice! The candidate will assist in the care of the Physician’s patients and fulfill the need as the physician’s extender, performing selective medical services under the direction of the physician. The ideal candidate has 2 or more years of pain management experience in an outpatient setting but will train if the right candidate is hired. This position is ideal for someone who seeks a work/life balance as there is minimal to no call, 3 day weekends, no holidays, and no weekends.
Responsibilities:
· Under the direction of the physician, provides direct patient care including gathering detailed history and performing physical exams
· Performs and orders tests and interprets results
· Administers therapeutic procedures as directed
· Instructs on care and maintains charts and records on patients within EMR (eClinical Works)
· Evaluates for interventional pain procedures and other modalities for optimal patient outcomes
· Prepares prescription orders for medications and controlled substances when needed
· Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits
· Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
· Maintains confidentiality of patient information and office business practices
· Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervising physician
Minimum Qualifications:
· Master’s Degree in Nursing with an active and unrestricted Texas license (Nurse Practitioner) or PA Licensure with the Texas Medical Board
· Graduate of Accredited PA/NP program
· Recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing as Advanced Practice Nurse (NP)
· Prescriptive authority privileges through the State of Texas, DEA eligible
· BLS, ACLS
· Must have strong communication skills and be able to communicate in English
· Must demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others
Details of Position:
This position is in a private practice office setting with clinical hours of M-Th 8:30 – 5. Friday may be utilized for administrative catch up in office or remotely as needed. Patient load is approximately 3 follow-ups per hour with an average of 22 patient per day (4 days per week). eClinical Works EMR.
