Summary/Objective 

Water’s Edge Dermatology, an AQUA Dermatology portfolio practice, is Florida’s largest and most comprehensive full-service skin care provider in the Southeast, offering medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, plastic surgery, vein care and radiation oncology. Founded in 1998, AQUA Dermatology is the Southeast’s premier dermatology practice with over 86 locations throughout Florida and Georgia. Our established practices and experienced physicians offer patients the most quality outcomes and an exceptional patient experience. From common rashes to skin cancer treatments, plastic surgery procedures to an array of vein treatments, no case is beyond our experience and expertise.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary/Objective 

The Vice President of Operations is responsible for upholding the profitability and values of an organization by leading day to day business operations. Their duties include consulting with senior leadership to determine strategic business goals or initiatives. Supporting the Chief Medical Officer, Providers, and staff to ensure effective execution on deliverables allowing them to provide exceptional patient care and contributing to overall profitability of the Practice.  

Essential Functions:

  • Builds and manages a high-performance operations team by developing processes and management controls to support a large, highly efficient Practice able to rapidly open new centers and easily integrate acquired facilities including people, processes, and systems.
  • Establishes a critical path of performance in services and operations creating a framework of, and adhering to, specific deliverables, timeframes, and metrics to ensure expedited progress and successful outcomes.
  • Builds strong trust-based relationships with Providers and staff to drive proactive solutions-based outcomes. 
  • Tackling unforeseen issues and timely trouble shooting through conflict resolution. 
  • Works closely with VPs of HR Recruitment on people matters, competitive analysis, staffing and recruitment.
  • Conducts a thorough audit of services, technology, operational priorities, potential partners, business development initiatives, ideas, and plans.
  • Assesses individual bandwidth and scales the organization as appropriate making upgrades to the team as Water’s Edge scales through both de novo development and add-on acquisitions.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
  • Works with COO to ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision.
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Reviews and approves cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
  • Actively involved in the annual budgeting process.   
  • Presents performance reports and metrics to the chief executive officer and other leadership.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.
  • Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided.

 

 

Experience & Education:

  • Minimum 12 years of progressively responsible management experience and industry-related experience.
  • Minimum 10 years supervisory experience in operations or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, Accounting, or another industry-related field required; MBA preferred.

  • Proven track record as a Sr. Leader with an understanding of management practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and gain buy-in through influence.
  • Proven analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and quantitative abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects, budgets, and P&L’s.  
  • A systematic approach to problem solving for all types of issues.
  • Strong skills in fostering working relationships.
  • Detail oriented; organized; sets priorities; meets deadlines. 
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. 
  • Outstanding time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments in a changing environment with competing projects. 
  • Ability to learn processes and systems quickly.
  • Proven ability to manage others and foster teamwork.
