Job Description - Church Secretary
Leap of Faith Church, Pottsboro, TX
POSITION TITLE: Church Secretary
REPORTS TO: Pastor
COORDINATES WITH: Pastor
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office- and church-related clerical and management tasks
HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. off noon - 1 p.m.
COMPENSATION: Negotiable pending review by Board of Directors
BENEFITS: Negotiable pending review by Board of Directors
ABSENCES: Absences must be coordinated with the pastor a minimum of two weeks prior to the absence except in event of illness or emergency.
The church secretary is responsible for recruiting appropriate substitutes during his/her absence.

Education

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
- Train, schedule, manage nursery staff and nursery
- Secretary to the pastor
- Clerical support for church staff
- Receptionist for the church
Office
- Answer phone.
- Inventory and order office supplies and building maintenance supplies.
- Ensure that office equipment is kept in working condition by performing preventative maintenance and arranging repairs; recommend replacements as needed.
- Monitor and manage building systems.
- Arrange and confirm various meetings and events.
- Attend monthly Board of Directors as acting secretary; with pastor and lay leader, develop agenda and minutes
- Deliver and pick up bulletins and other materials produced or copied off-site.
- Order educational curricula.
- Human Resources tasks — track absences, time off, paid days, etc.
Technology
- Input and manage contributions/financial data using church management software and QuickBooks.
- Update and maintain membership information in church management software.
- Produce various flyers, posters, minutes, pamphlets for groups and organizations in the church.
- Produce informational and worship slides.
- Maintain website on Constant Contact.
- Produce weekly newsletter on Constant Contact.
- Post online worship service and other information on Facebook, YouTube, and other platforms as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by pastor
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
