What are the responsibilities and job description for the TODDLER TEACHER position at LEARNING GROVE?
Job Details
Description
Learning Grove is a leading nonprofit early childhood education provider in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Our centers have operated across Greater Cincinnati for more than 40 years, and we serve children ages 6 weeks through 6 years. Our teachers work in beautiful, high-quality classrooms.
Quality isn't just a goal; it's where we begin. Ages 0-5 years are a critical point at which education shapes lives and as teachers this makes us co-creators of a child’s brain along with parents.
We're a top workplace (Cincinnati Enquirer 2 years running) in the region, AND we offer:
• Weekday, daytime hours
• On-the-job training and access to top-tier coaching support, structured career growth plans, access to free and reduced college tuition
• Comprehensive insurance plans, including pet insurance
• Mental health support, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid professional development days
• Plenty more benefits that work for you and your whole family
Overview of the teacher role
Our teachers plan and implement classroom lesson plans (we have built-in coaches and supports to help you with this), stay connected with parents, and provide care and learning for each child, based on what each child needs to succeed.
What we need from you:
We’ve built the beautiful, home-like classrooms. We need teachers who keep the environment clean, safe, and stimulating, using the Constructivist Theory (we’re happy to help you learn more about this if you join our classroom).
This might be a given, but our teachers should have a positive nature and be flexible, and know that we work best as a team. We lean into social emotional learning and child-lead play, using positive redirection.
You’re as committed to equity, diversity, and inclusivity as we are. You show respect for every child, the people in their lives, and for your team members.
You’re also able to keep confidential information about the program, families, children, staff and the agency.
What we can do for you as a Teacher:
We have structured career growth plans, in-house coaching, paid professional development, and access to free and reduced college tuition.
We want you to be successful in your classroom, so we will help guide you to required training and educational credentials as needed.
Learning Grove is known for having the highest quality centers as rated by Ohio and Kentucky’s rating systems. We’ll help you make sure your classroom and work stays aligned with our standards- we just need you to help put it into play!
Qualifications
If you don’t feel like you check every one of these boxes, don’t worry! Let’s talk and see if you’re a good fit. We can also connect you to resources for completing training or education.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED, CDA, or in process of obtaining a degree
• Prior experience working with young children and the ability to manage classroom through positive redirection, problem solving, setting appropriate limits, and active listening.
