SPECIALIZED BEHAVIORAL ASSISTANT (#348)
Job Posting for SPECIALIZED BEHAVIORAL ASSISTANT (#348) at LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER
6.75 hr/day. Experience working with special needs students. Will be placed in specific building upon hire. Great communication skills and problem solving skills needed. Job coaching skills prefered. Will need to be able to successfully complete both written and physical components of Nonviolent Crisis Prevention (CPI) training provided by district upon hire.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists with the direct supervision of student activities.
- Provides data collection and clerical duties as assigned.
- Provides individual assistance to child – academically, behaviorally and if in crisis.
- Assists with maintaining an orderly and organized work area.
- Keeps the teacher advised on all matters of relevance.
- Assists with student hygiene (including diapering).
- Carries out lesson plans as directed by the teacher.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Able to multi-task and perform a variety of activities throughout the day.
- Follows through with directives from the special education teacher and/or specialists consulting on the case.
- Attends specialized trainings and applies new learning in working with the student.
- Complete all training as required.
- Communicates openly and honestly with the school team regarding student behavior and progress.
