For over 26 years, we have provided on-site instructional services within the hospital setting, helping students to continue their academic progress during treatment and successfully reenter the classroom. LearnWell is currently looking for our next creative and passionate teacher to fill a part-time ten-month teaching position in Passaic, NJ. We would love to collaborate with you and help more kids journey towards their full potential.
The certified teacher will work in a unique outpatient treatment center, which involves working with adolescent students in a small classroom setting and supporting them academically with common core subjects while they are receiving treatment.
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
- Plan, prepare and deliver daily lesson plans and instructional material for an average of 10 students within each group
- Help students one-on-one if extra assistance is needed on their individual school curriculum.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, hospital and parents regarding student progress and student needs
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
- Updating daily attendance and creating daily session reports for each student
Position entails a 20-hour a week, 4 hours a day 10:30 am-2:30 pm, Monday through Friday commitment. Qualifications:
- NJ Standard Teaching Certification
- Comfortable working with adolescents aged 13-18
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Strong organizational skills
- Understanding of subject matter relevant to students need
* This position has a $500 sign on bonus to be paid out as follows: $250 on your first day and the remaining $250 on day 90.
