For nearly 25 years, we have provided on-site instructional services within the hospital setting, helping students to continue their academic progress during treatment and successfully reenter the classroom. LearnWell is currently looking for our next two creative and passionate teachers to fill two year round positions in Newark, DE. The certified teachers will work in a unique fast-paced behavioral health facility center; which involves working with adolescent students in a small classroom setting and supporting them academically with common core subjects while they are receiving treatment.
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
- Plan, prepare and deliver daily lesson plans and instructional material for an average of 10-13 students, with a maximum amount of 15; in a small group setting
- Help students one-on-one if extra assistance is needed on their individual school curriculum.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, hospital and parents regarding student progress and student needs
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
- Updating daily attendance and creating daily session reports for each student
Position is 40-hour a week commitment, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. We offer a very generous package of paid time off including vacation time, sick time, federal holidays, and paid school breaks. This position includes a $500.00 sign on bonus! $250.00 bonus paid out on teachers after 30 days of employment and then the remaining $250.00 paid after 90 days of employment. also offer healthcare benefits that include medical, dental, and vision. Qualifications:
- B.A/B.S degree from an accredited institution
- DE State Teaching Certification (or the ability to obtain one within 3 months)
- Comfortable working with adolescents in grades 7th-12th
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Strong organizational skills
- Understanding of subject matter relevant to students need

Students are within the grades 5th-12th, with most of the population being adolescents.
