Customer Service Representative

The Leavitt Group’s affiliate, Stafford-Leavitt Insurance Services in Harrisonville, MO is looking to add a talented motivated individual to join their team as a Customer Service Representative.  

Job Description: 

This position will assist in servicing insurance policies (providing quotes, issuing certificates, etc.). A previous background in P&C insurance is preferred. One must possess strong customer service skills, sales skills and a desire to have a long-term association with a professional company. Position includes an excellent benefits package and a competitive hourly wage. 

Requirements:

• You will be required to have or obtain a P&C Insurance license within 90 days. Candidates with a license are preferred for this position, but not required. 

Duties and Responsibilities include:  

• Accurately maintain all customer information in the computer management system 
• Proficient knowledge, or ability to learn the various company products, underwriting requirements, binding authority, policy forms, rating software programs (upload and download), and competitiveness in the marketplace 
• Service all existing lines accounts by: 
  1. Speaking with customers and company personnel on the phone or in person during office visits and responding to all written correspondence.
  2. Answering coverage questions, recommending coverage's, processing policy change information, taking claim information, collecting premiums, submitting the proper documents to the company, and verifying that documents received from company are correct. 
  3. Issuing the proper insurance verification documents to the insured (auto id, certificates, etc.). 
  4. Resolving customer problems & complaints (with assistance/direction from manager or producer as needed). 
  5. Assist with the collection of premiums and reconciliation of accounts as needed. 
  6. Retain renewal business by contacting insureds to review coverage. 
  7. Review current underwriting information in order to qualify customers for improved programs, and monitor renewal premiums for excessive increases. 
• Develop existing accounts by attempting to provide additional coverages on existing policies, or adding additional lines of business by cross selling. This position will also be responsible for rounding out the book where there are gaps. 
• Assist the agency in developing new business by providing accurate quotes in a timely manner, preparing proposals, completing company required forms and requests, submitting account information to the company, providing the customer with appropriate documentation, and verifying documents received from the company are accurate. 
• Assist in performing outbound Sales Calls to specified programs developed by Programs or in conjunction with affiliated agencies. 
• Assist Operation Manager with monthly reports, as needed. 
• Provide company product, coverage, and rate training to other agency personnel as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management as falls within the job spectrum. 

 Qualifications: 

• 1-3 or more years experience as a customer service representative
• P&C insurance license. or willingness to obtain a license in 90 days
• Sales skills 
• Detail oriented 
• Strong oral and written communications skills, 
• Strong computer skills 
• Detail oriented and the ability to handle multiple accounts and transactions 
• High School diploma or equivalent
