What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claims Advocate position at Leavitt Group?
Leavitt United Insurance Services is looking for a Claims Advocate to work hybrid or remote through any one of their following locations: Elk Grove, CA; Lodi, CA; Napa, CA; Sonora, CA; Fresno CA; Walnut Creek, CA; Roseville, CA; Minden, NV.
As the Claims Advocate, you will be responsible for managing the property/casualty claims programs for assigned clients. You will work directly with clients, Producers, Account Executives, Account Managers, and claims representatives to manage our existing and prospective clients
Responsibilities:
- Monitors claims, targeting accounts for customized service
- Manages and communicates complex claims issues for key accounts
- Attends and facilitates requests for proposals, client meetings, claim reviews, and vendor visits
- Reviews claim status, action plans, and reserves using technical problem-solving skills
- Negotiates for direction and management of claim and appropriate reserves
- Provides status reports to clients and keeps team informed
- Advocates, consults, and provides coverage advice to clients as appropriate
- Researches and obtains claims data from claim carriers and challenges adjusters as warranted while advocating the best possible outcome for clients in accordance with service standards
- Sorts loss runs to analyze claims data to strategize approach to claims management
- Handles claims consistent with our clients and corporate policies, procedures, and "Best Practices" and also in accordance with any statutory, regulatory, and ethics requirements
- Assists Account Management team to retain existing accounts
- Attends appropriate and applicable continuing education courses as needed to maintain position knowledge and licensing
- Maintains quality relationships with insurance carriers
- Some travel will be required, about once per month
Qualifications:
- Five years or more of technical claims management experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Property and Casualty License & designation experience preferred
- Ability to analyze complex coverage issues with Claims Manager Exceptional customer service skills
- Disciplined, well-organized, and self-motivated person
- Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills, including sorting of data, charting, and mapping
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to negotiate with others in an appropriate manner; ability to listen
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-up
