Job Description for Lebo's Assistant Manager: Merchandising Manager
General Summary: The assistant manager is responsible for the management of all retail store operations, motivating the store team to meet Lebo's customer service requirements and make sales goals, and ensures that the store and team members consistently execute all operational functions according to Lebo's company standards. In addition, the assistant manager is responsible for merchandising.
Merchandising Manager Essential Functions:
§ Manage store-to-store and back office transfer requests.
§ Personally support the store manager in training new team members on engaging with customers according to Lebo’s company standards.
§ Manage freight shipments. This includes monitoring the loading and unloading of packages, making sure all transfers are sent and packaged as required, “checking-in” items by comparing packing slips to what items are included and making any adjustments in inventory (if needed), accepting transfers into the point of sale system, and assuring that all freight is put into stock within 48 hours of arrival.
§ Keep staff informed and trained on all new products.
§ Ensure store signage is current, professional, and placed in approved sign-holders. Signs should be posted with-in 24 hours of a given directive.
§ Manage and train staff to ensure that all stock is ran correctly according to Lebo's merchandising standards.
§ Manage and train staff to ensure that departments are full and fresh, with displays and mannequins changed out every 30 days.
§ Utilize the selling power of window displays, end-caps, and mannequins to feature and promote product.
§ Manage and train staff to ensure that every item is displayed correctly at all times.
§ Informs store manager of low stock levels in “hot” items.
Management Team Essential Functions:
§ Achieve and exceed all financial sales goals and plans established for the store.
§ Establish, model, and reinforce Lebo's outstanding customer service and hand-fitting reputations.
§ Ensure all company policies are followed and executed.
§ Embrace diversity and foster a positive work and shopping environment to promote sales and the success of Lebo's.
§ Effectively communicate and execute the vision of the company, its values, and expectations.
§ Execute and maintain operational, promotional, and visual merchandising standards and initiatives.
§ Execute all training programs for operational procedures, required duties, and product knowledge.
§ Implements any new procedures or policies as directed by district manager in timely manner.
§ Complete and email the Daily Sales Report to the district manager and president nightly.
§ Reply to emails in a timely manner.
§ Complete price changes and back-office transfers within 24 hours.
§ Transfer out store-to-store transfer requests within 24 hours.
§ “Check-in” and accept transfers into system within 48 hours.
§ Put away truck stock within 48 hours of arrival.
§ Utilize Lebo’s Point of Sale system and all of its capabilities.
§ Manage and track layaways, special orders, and customer transfers.
§ Communicate with I.T. Department of any variances in the inventory tracking system and make adjustments as needed.
§ Communicate with the I.T. Department with any computer, internet, or phone issues immediately.
§ Call for store repairs as needed, and communicate with district manager when issues arise.
§ Attend manager's meetings and training seminars as required.
Staff Management:
§ Train new employees to know and meet Lebo's sales and customer service standards, to use Lebo's point of sale system, to know and understand Lebo's company policies and merchandising standards.
§ Manage the Lebo's Training Binder by keeping it up to date with new information (as directed).
§ Ensure all employees are aware of current advertisements, sales, promotional offers, contests, and new products by utilizing Lebo's Communications Binder.
§ Perform "bag checks" as required.
§ Ensure all employees arrive to work on time and as scheduled, as according to Lebo's Attendance Policy. This includes keeping record of any late or missed days in the Lebo's Attendance Binder.
§ Enforce all other policies including, but not limited to, Lebo's Phone Policies, Internet Use Policy, Dress Code Policy, Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Policies, Lebo's "33-Turn" Policy.
§ Ensure that all employees know to call Southeastern Loss Prevention when concerned about safety, theft, harassment, discrimination or any other job related concerns.
§ Ensure employees measure customers' feet and/or have customer stand on foot-scan machine.
§ Follow-up on employees after any given directive.
§ Assign departments to employees. Ensure the employee keeps the department to standards as written in Lebo's Merchandising Standards Handbook.
Position Requirements:
· Experience in western boots or western wear, tack, dance, or family shoes preferred.
· High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of experience. Associates degree preferred.
· Familiarity or experience with a retail sales environment, and merchandising programs and procedures.
· Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar retail management position.
· Strong interpersonal and public relation skills.
· Strong sales abilities.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Good organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent supervisory and leadership abilities.
· Ability to lift 65 lbs and climb ladders.
