Database Administrator (Kendall)

Ledgent Technology is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) on behalf of our esteemed client in the healthcare industry. Our client is dedicated to providing top-tier healthcare services and is looking for a skilled professional to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of their database systems.

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of system administration experience, with a strong background in managing and optimizing SQL databases. As a DBA at our client's organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of their database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management:

• Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.


• Ensure the availability and consistent performance of various corporate applications.


• Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO):


• Optimize database performance by analyzing and tuning SQL queries and database parameters.


• Identify and resolve database performance issues, including server resource usage, indexing, and query execution plans.

Backup and Recovery:

• Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.


• Perform regular backups and ensure that recovery procedures are tested and effective.


• Security Management:


• Implement and maintain database security, including user access control and data encryption.


• Conduct regular security audits to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.

Data Integration:

• Work closely with development and business teams to design and implement data integration solutions.


• Ensure seamless data flow between various systems and applications.


• Documentation and Reporting:


• Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.


• Generate regular reports on database performance, utilization, and health.

Support and Troubleshooting:

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve database-related issues.


• Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure smooth operation of all IT systems

• Location: On-site in Kendall, Florida


• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).


• Minimum of 4 years of experience in system administration with a focus on SQL databases.


• Strong knowledge of SQL Server, MySQL, or other relational database management systems.


• Proficiency in database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management.


• Experience with database scripting and automation using tools like PowerShell or Bash.


• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.


• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
