As a key team member, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for maintaining operational compliance to our established Quality Management System, as well as ensuring all regulatory and customer expectations are fully understood and meet. The Quality Engineer will also be responsible for reviewing products, processes, and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality engineering and continuous improvement with exceptional team orientation. The candidate will also have strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Primary activities include: - Ensuring processes and methods to comply with AS9100 and other certifications are documented and followed
- Validate proper flow-down of requirements from customers to operations, test, and suppliers
- Manage supplier quality by ensuring adequate incoming verification processes and proper disposition/correction of any issues
- Support or lead cross-functional teams to achieve Key Process Indicator goals
- Ensure that appropriate statistical techniques are implemented and applied at strategic points within the QMS to drive process control
- Partner with engineering in root cause analysis of production, test, or supplier issues to compel yield improvement, implementing process control and revising documentation
- Drive corrective action where materials, process, or products are noncompliant to requirements
Experience/Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in an applied science or engineering field is preferred.
- 3 years prior experience minimum in Quality Assurance for product manufacturing.
- Experience in quality management systems; direct experience with AS9100 preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with customers, contract manufacturers, suppliers, QMS auditors, or distributors.
- Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills related to identifying and verifying root cause as well as developing corrective actions is required.
- Experience with Quality Assurance tools such as fishbone diagrams, control charts, histograms, pareto charts, and FMEA are strongly preferred.
