Responsibilities:
- Cost Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze project budgets, actual costs, and variances to ensure projects are on track financially.
- Prepare detailed cost reports and financial summaries for construction projects.
- Monitor and report on project profitability and financial performance.
- Job Cost Management:
- Maintain and update job cost accounting records for multiple construction projects.
- Allocate project costs to appropriate cost centers and accounts.
- Review and validate cost allocations and ensure accuracy.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and forecasts.
- Assist in the creation of annual budgets for construction projects.
- Provide financial insights to support budget adherence.
- Variance Analysis:
- Investigate and explain cost variances between budgeted and actual expenses.
- Identify areas for cost savings and process improvements.
- Communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Financial Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting standards and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, estimators, and other team members to provide financial guidance and support.
- Collaborate with the finance team to integrate project data into the overall financial reporting system.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- 3 years of cost accounting experience in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, cost control, and financial analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with construction contracts and project management processes is a plus.
