We are seeking a Junior Accountant for growing Property and Casulty Insurance company! Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar is REQUIRED.
- 1-3 years of Accounting experience, specifically working in the General Ledger.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables & V-Look Ups).
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close by completing assigned journal entries, conducting balance sheet account reconciliations, managing accruals, and ensuring the overall maintenance of general ledger accounts.
- Contributing to the development and review of annual budgets and performance projections to support the financial planning process.
- Maintaining documentation to facilitate the company's ability to respond effectively to requests from auditors, stakeholders, and government entities.
- Performing monthly general ledger account reconciliations to verify data accuracy, and promptly reporting, identifying, and rectifying errors made by both internal and external personnel.
- Responding to information requests by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends to support decision-making processes.
- Ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and monitoring policies and procedures for assigned departments, with a focus on identifying and recommending improvements for accounting reporting and recording procedures.
