The candidate will also leverage their bilingual skills to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking employees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing: Accurately prepare and process weekly payrolls for all employees.
- Data Entry: Input and maintain payroll data including employee status changes, tax withholdings, and direct deposit information.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including wage and hour laws.
- Reporting: Generate and distribute payroll reports, summaries, and analyses as required.
- Employee Support: Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees, providing support in both English and Spanish.
- Records Management: Maintain organized payroll records and documentation for auditing and compliance purposes.
- Deductions Management: Calculate and process deductions, benefits contributions, garnishments, and other withholdings accurately.
- System Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance and updates of the payroll system, ensuring data integrity and system accuracy.
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to payroll processes and procedures for increased efficiency.

Qualifications

- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a bilingual environment.
- Language Skills: Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and verbal.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations, tax laws, and best practices.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in processing payroll and handling sensitive information.
