What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Rep position at Lee Electrical Construction?
We are looking for an experienced Safety Rep who has experience in linework. The Safety Rep is responsible for ensuring safety compliance for assigned territory, particularly field crews while working towards solutions and increasing safety awareness.
Responsibilities
- Assigning and testing safety equipment to specified crews in field.
- Inspects and conducts observations on job sites regularly to identify potentially hazardous conditions.
- Inspects job sites regularly to identify potential hazardous conditions.
- Recommends corrective actions or precautions to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.
- Investigates accidents, injuries property damage, etc.
- Completes proper reporting information and takes photos as required.
- Educates Superintendents, Foremen and crews on safety policy and procedures.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with employees and customers.
- Completes quarterly random, reasonable suspicion, and new hire drug testing as needed.
- Deliver new hire orientation as needed.
- Work schedule will be hitch work (8 days on and 6 days off).
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years experience related to safety and/or line construction
- OSHA 30-hour or ETD 20-hour certification.
- First Aid/CPR/AED instructor certification.
- Flagger instructor certification.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with management, employees and customers.
- Must be able to reason and negotiate. Must be computer literate and have experience with MS Office or similar program and Outlook or similar email program.
- Must have valid drivers license.
- Must be able to travel 40% of time.
- Must have linework experience to be considered.
