Tests and troubleshoot electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation using volt meter, continuity tester, meggar, light meter Full working knowledge of current NEC Full working knowledge of lock out/ tag out for all energy sources Blue Print reading Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical Modify existing electrical work for new customer needs Produces a top quality product that meets the Company's standards. Must have the ability to work with little to no supervision Must be able to work out of town (stay over night), shift work, overtime and weekends if needed On call rotation MANDATORY Company vehicle supplied maintain the vehicle in a clean and neat condition Essential Functions: (Skills & Abilities) The ability to predictably and regularly attend work and to be punctual The ability to read and understand documents, drawings and instructions (whether presented in written, oral, diagram or schedule form) The ability to work cooperatively with others to ensure a team atmosphere The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkers The ability to perform several tasks at once The ability to follow direction and instruction Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring. The ability to train apprentices The ability to handle constructive criticism Ability and knowledge to order materials direct from suppliers Strong work ethic to complete job Professional appearance Qualifications: (essential to a candidates ability to perform the position- a candidate who does not possess the basic qualification would be unable or clearly unqualified to do the job) Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of electrician apprenticeship Five years of experience working as a Service Electrician Valid driver's license CDL license holder a plus ( MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION TO WORK) including valid DOT medical card Master and/or City of Harrisburg license Completed Lift Training Certificate Must have a clean criminal background Physical Requirements: Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring. Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding. Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits up to 100 pounds Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time. Must be comfortable working on heights 6' 50' Must be able to use hand tools, benders, power tools without assistance from others Must be able to work in weather extremes from heat, cold, rain, snow, etc Bonus Items: CDL and/or bucket truck experience Motor Controls, PLC Data & Fiber Security system Master or City licenses Osha Training On-Call incentive Pay Rate: Up to $29 per hour depending on experience and abilities for all of the items listed above Disclaimer: This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
