Overall Responsibilities:
The Senior Corporate Accountant will work collaboratively with the Regional
Controller, members of the corporate accounting team and operations to ensuremanagement has accurate and timely financial information for making soundbusiness decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes information within the financial statements and completes schedules that support account balances.
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts; reclassifying account balances, all while ensuring compliance with Company and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Maintain the Company’s fixed asset ledger and reconciliations, including compiling monthly roll forwards, additions, disposals, and transfers from business units. Verify lives and methods are accurate and assets are capitalized in accordance with Company capitalization policies.
- Prepares various annual/monthly accruals and supporting schedules.
- Support the management by answering accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Aid in preparation of sales/use and annual property tax returns.
- Review monthly bank reconciliations.
- Develop annual monthly allocations to business units for various accounts, including various insurance premiums, healthcare expenses and real and personal property tax accruals.
- Review and post weekly payroll disbursements and accruals.
- Reports to Director of Accounting.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Consistently receives positive feedback from peers and able to provide accounting guidance with industry/business knowledge.
- Actively seek out improvements amongst the accounting department that improves group performance.

Educational and other requirements:
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required
- 4 years-experience, industry experience a plus
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
- Highly detail oriented and organizational skills
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of team and management
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, PowerBI and JD Edwards a plus
- Good administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently or as a member of a team – as appropriate
- Proficient with computer systems and software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-Point, Outlook – Email.
- Ability to communicate effectively to direct and motivate others, maintaining a persuasive and credible presentation style at all levels of the organization.
