POSITION SUMMARY
Reports to the Director of Operations. Responsible for the overall operations, coordination, and evaluation of the facility to include personnel. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws to include building production schedules, production processes stay within budgets. Ensure deadlines are met and review the productivity of an organization’s manufacturing equipment and enhance efficiencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all daily operations of the plant from production to manufacturing
- Ensures company policies and procedures are followed, including all safety protocols
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all Local, State and Federal laws pertaining to Safety, Environmental, and/or Sanitation
- Build production schedule
- Create and manage operational budgets
- Work closely with procurement to thoroughly understand supply chain opportunities
- Collect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and waste
- Analyze data and develop reports to present to executives regarding processes
- Establish production goals, safety standards and production processes that maximize production activities
- Evaluate, coach, and develop employees; conduct one-on-one meetings and team meetings, when necessary
- Work closely with HR on recruitment and retention
- Regularly communicate and collaborate with production team to address production schedule concerns or issues
- Ensure proper maintenance of equipment, building and establish housekeeping standards
- Collaborate with Production Manager on capital project improvements
- Collaborate with company network to maximize knowledge of core competencies and best practices
- Effectively communicate with management team, customers, employees, peers, and senior level management
- Achieve financial goals by managing productivity, quality, and customer service standards
- Model the values and culture of the company
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior ability to train people and positively motivate a team
- Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products
- Solid decision-making skills
- Ability to respectfully lead a team
- Mathematical skills to include algebraic formulas, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Keen attention to detail
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends, as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires 10 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in a related industry)
- Bachelor’s degree, helpful but not required, in production and operations management
- Minimum of five years in a leadership role in production and operations
- Detailed knowledge of plant and manufacturing operations
- Knowledge of all applicable safety laws and regulations
